Lincoln Memorial

Just listened to the "Reflections" about the Lincoln Memorial. Great insight as to what this memorial means to a variety of people. Enjoy!

How would you use blogs in your classroom?

Blogs can be a terrific resource for teachers to increase the use of journaling. While presenting an opportunity for students to share ideas with their teacher in a more interactive venue, blogs also allow students to share with their peers. Students are able to learn from each other and teachers can provide immediate feedback to individuals as well as the entire group.

What is your favorite technological tool in your classroom?

"Clickers" also known as personal response systems, allow you to engage students in a whole group activity, effectively and anonymously. It is classroom participation at its best: fast paced, social and interactive. All the elements that students respond to! "Clickers" facilitate teachable moments because of the data that is instantly available on the student responses. No need to wait until the quizzes are graded to know what your students understand. A variety of learning styles and levels can be accommodated simultaneously. After the initial setup it is a win-win situation!
